>> Good evening. I'm julie chen. Welcome to "big brother 5". It's day 21 inside the big brother house. And it appears the four horsemen, jase, scott, michael and drew, are holding all the power. Using their influence,$they persuaded marvins the ruling head of household, to put laurie, the yoga instructor from boston, up for eviction. Also nominated, holly, the model from los angeles. But jase, one of the four horsemen, decided to shake things up even more. After winning the golden power of veto, jase chose to save holly from possible eviction, and in her place marvin nominated car remember, the artist from new jersey. Striking a blow to the will, laurie and karen alliance. Who stay, whose stay is almost over, laurie or karen? We'll find out tonight when one of these houseguests is evicted live. But first, with karen and laurie on the eviction block, the house isñr more divided than ever, as both women scramble to build support, the fight to be the next head of household is heating up.
>> I choose to use the golden power of veto, and i choose to remove you from the block, holly.
>> It was a no brainer, i had to do what i had to do. There was a strong hard core alliance that the numbers were bigger than the horsemen's numbers, bottom line, laurie would have stayed, we gotta get laurie out because she's running the other people.
>> The reason i put karen up was because karen has been campaigning to keep laurie in the house. I bet she abe campaigning to keep her in the house now.
>> If i should be the one that remains, can we just converse a little bit on how we feel about stuff?
>> Oh, yeah.
>> She's talking.
>> No obligation, you don't have to show me your hand, whatever, but like i would just like to be knowing how other people feel.
>> Yeah, well, I'm cool with that.

>> I think goodness prevails and these people aren't going to prevail very far, at least this is what i want to believe.

>> It's just sad to see that people are following other people because they think they're strong and that it will get them far, but it's not going to. And i really wanted to see like the honest decent people have a fighting chance.
>> I just can't believe this house is just like a bunch of followers. Really thought people like would be for their own sake.

>> Things change in the big brother house every day. I would almost say, you know, some days I'm the leader and sometimes a follower.

>> We all think you're a very cool cowboy, you've been very coolness I can't even look jase in the eye. I keep having battles with myself that it would be so much easier to just get out all these people. And then i think like how bad I would love to win in this game and like my true competitor side comes out. At the end of the day i really don't want to go home. Although it seems more appealing than anything in the world.
>> It's like if they came into power again she'd be a biggering the for them than us, I feel like if she was here it would be like...
>> Two more people, cowboy, two more girls, and it's game over. It's over.
>> Yeah. Cowboy is another softy. If laura gerts to him, boom, he might vote to keep laurie.
>> I thought everyone was like my friend, and then i just felt like everyone was like conspiring against me. I don't want to like leave.

>> It sucks that we were put up against each other, it really sucks. Please don't think that I'm trying to, i was not trying to rally anyone, I promise you. Obviously I want to stay.

>> Well, to be honest with you, julie, i was out by the pool drinking all day, so i was so liquored up when that went down that i don't really remember doing it.

>> Julie: Well, holly, how do you feel about jase using the power of veto to save you, and a response to that?
>> Well, I think it was nice. I didn't know that that was the reason. I do now. You know.
>> Julie: Thank you, holly. Will, after three weeks in the big brother house, what would you say has surprised you most about this game?
>> The amount of free time that we have on our hands. I think that we all look very much forward to the competitions and of course spending time with you, but the days can get really long here at the big brother house, so we've come up with such pretty creative ways to occupy our time juz more time to strategize?
>> Exactly.
>> Julie: Jennifer, i see what you've been doing with your time. We've seen many different hair colors, but tonight a whole new look.
>> Yeah.
>> Julie: What made gu with the mohawk, which doesn't look like a mohawk tonight because you have it sideswiped to the right.
>> More formal this way. The boredom of being in the house and the lack of things to do made me insane for, you know, just a small amount of time and that was long enough for me to tell everyone to shave the sides of my head.
>> Julie: Do you like it?
>> I love it.
>> We like it too.
>> Julie: Adria, hello. Now, the house has won seafood, sausage and dairy in the food competition. How is this strange combination of groceries going over with everyone in the house?
>> It's actually going over or not going at all. So i think that combination of things, we're missing a little bit of our rough age and a little fiber so, we're looking for to the next food competition. It's been very interesting how our attitudes have mellowed out.
>> Julie: It's better than pb and J.
>> Yes, ma'am.
>> Julie: Diane.
>> Hi.
>> Julie: Hello. After 21 days in the big brother house, what do you miss most about the outside world?
>> I could be cheesey and say my sister, but I'm going to go for my car on that one. I love to drive. I miss it.
>> Julie: Thank you everyone, I'll be back a little later. Coming up, project do not assume. Project dna continues. Identical twins adria natalie have traded places in the house six times and the other houseguests have no idea. But switching places and playing the game as one has proven to be both stressful ask emotional. What is it like for the twins family as they watch this nerve wracking twist unfold? Find out in a little while. First, it is eviction night. Of the twelve houseguests only nine are able to cast a vote. Nominees, laurie and karen, are not allowed to vote, neither is marvin, the current head of household. All votes are cast in secret in the diary room. Let's listen in as jase, michael and will diane prepare to cast their votes.
>> Laurie is like the girl me in this house. She's smart, athletic, beautiful. So she's a high threat in this house.
>> I really hope that laurie stays in this game, because her number one goal in mind is to get scott and jase out of here.
>> I would like laurie to stay in the game to help me, i think that she could help me out a little bit more than karen.
>> Karen she's a great artist, sometimes I feel she's really genuine. And i peck her in that sense.
>> Karen is intelligent, i think she is a gamer.

>> Julie: Welcome back to "big brother 5". Project dna is under way. Identical twins adria and natalie have been switching places in the big brother house for three weeks. If they can keep trading places for another two weeks without the other houseguests finding out, they will have earned the right to enter the house at the same time and play the game as individuals, meaning both will have a chance to win the half million there are prize. So far they have been able to fool the other houseguests. But how does their family feel as they watch this game of double jeopardy? Tonight a second unbelievable twist. One of our 13 houseguests has an identical twin who has also been playing the big brother game. They have switched places three times.
>> Participating in this twist is perfect for adria, because they have always been able to pull this off. Me, the mother, fooled constantly. This is the age where they were swapping boyfriends, high school, and here's where it started, kindergarten. I can't tell them apart right now, and i can see all the times they fooled me.
>> Throughout college, adria and her husband, natalie and i, we all dated, but they never tried to do a switcheroo on us. There is a slight variation in person al tees between her and adria, natalie has a little more of the I'm going to come straight at you personality. Her aggression is being seen by the four horsemen and could definitely put her in a dangerous situation.
>> If we shook it up with...
>> It bothers me to hear people talking about adria and natalie behind their backs, sometimes i want to jump into the screen and take them to the side and tell them what somebody else is saying.
>> Julie: Are you guys ready?
>> The switch live on television, it was so cool.
>> Give me the ring.
>> We're sitting here watching and it actually feet like we were there with them, kind of doing it all as a team.
>> The emotional side of it is hard for me, you know, my wedding ring and all the other stuff. So it's tough to look at a's face, and people call me a all day so, it's hard. I knew it would be.
>> Emotionally, i want to be there for natalie, i would love to just wrap my arms around her and just hug her and squeeze her up and say baby I love you, everything is all good.
>> I don't think anyone in this household can imagine demands that it puts on a person.
>> I would love to see them both in the house to see how the houseguests react to that.
>> I'm not playing the game for me, I'm playing it for her, because i dop want to let her down.
>> Watching them on tv, trying to be adria is hard, they are for each other 100% so, that's the really touching thing for me.
>> Oh, good part. King solomon, how beautiful you are, my love. What worried us initially dodge into the game is that if they're not swapping out very very consistently, that the faces are going to be like there's something different about you, because you can tell after a little bit.
>> Do I need to go for H. O. H..
>> Yes, if can you get it, you get and it then just let the strategy come to you. We can do this.
>> Julie: It's time to talk privately with marvin, who is alone in the head of household bedroom. Hi, marvin.
>> Hey, julie, how are you.
>> Julie: I'm good, how are you doing?
>> Exquisite.
>> Julie: Remember the other houseguests cannot hear you, so feel tree to speak your mind. Jase won the power of veto and vetoed up with of your nominees. How did you feel about that?
>> I was pretty ticked off, because he was one of the people I wanted to get out because she's a very game competitor. And when he took her off and put a target on his back, and also made me take off somebody necessary the house because had to put somebody else on the block, so it made my position very difficult. So i was pretty upset about that.
>> Julie: It's almost like you're making more enemies.
>> I got three this week.
>> Julie: Now, you made your living as a mortician.
>> Right.
>> Julie: How does that experience help new in game?
>> Number one you're act clip ated to a certain level of misery. Most of these people are not used to. And you're used to dealing with individual at their worst, so I'm able to be a comedian and get down with different types of people. And that's my inter personal skills have helped me a lot because it's such a social business.
>> Julie: You seem like a very cautious player. Is there anyone in the house whom you trust?
>> No. I wouldn't trust anybody in here far as i can throw a big old fat woman out after thanksgiving.
>> Julie: Who would you like to see win h. O. H. Tonight?
>> Scott would probably be the person I'd like to see win H. Ochl. This most tonight, because I have relative amounts of trust for people in here, and he's the only person I don't think is corrupt by a good looking woman with a sexy walk, or, you know, that type thing. I think he's the only guy who is actually pure had here, and he's crazy also so, I can only trust him so much, because i think he's the only guy who failed the psych exam to get in here.
>> Julie: Thank you, marvin, and you can go back and join the others. Coming up, tonight's live eviction. Who will be the first woman to leave the big brother house? Lori or karen? For now let's go back to the diary room, where drew generaler in and scott give their thoughts on the two nominees.
>> Karen only has a couple of flaws in the game, one of those being that she gets really emotional.
>> Karen at the beginning i fell was a big competitor, right away i saw her as a threat.
>> Karen we have a good friendship and I think we have a freight respect for each other.
>> Lori is a really good person, she has a good sense of humor, she always takes my jokes.
>> Lori is an attractive woman. It does not affect me because i didn't think she's that attractive to meness if lori ends up staying here and karen leaves that will definitely be an eye opener to us. And it will just prove how strong lori is as is a person in this game.

Or karen the portrait artist from new jersey? Three weeks ago a close friendship began between these two women, and tonight that friendship is go to be torn apart. Let's see how the houseguests voted. Hello again, everyone. Now just a reminder. When I reveal the results of the voting, the evicted houseguest will have one minute to say good-bye, gather their belongings, and walk out the front door. By a vote of 7 to 2, karen, you are safe. Lori, you have been evicted from the big brother house.
>> Karen, are you okay?
>> All right. Everybody, I love you guys.
>> Bye.
>> Good luck.
>> Don't kill each other.
>> Bye.
>> Have fun.
>> Bye.
>> I love you.
>> Keep it together.

>> Julie: Hi, lori, go ahead and put your bag down.

>> Julie: Lori, over the last few days you seemed to go back and forth and back and forth on whether or not you wanted to stay in the house. Why was that so hard for you to decide?
>> I could not believe what a crazy position it is to be nominated, my feelings were so up in the air. The house, the game is so much harder than i ever imagined it being, and, you know, you start to miss a lot of things, and being only on peanut puter and jelly and lack of sleep and stuff like that starts making you miss being in the outside world. But then, my competitive end made me want to be in the game. So it was really an inner battle what i wanted to do.
>> Julie: Sounds like either way you would are been pine with whatever happened.
>> I'm definitely sad. I really enjoy being there, and I would love to have won the game, obviously. But you know, I'm excited alittle bit to be back in the normal world outside of the house.
>> Julie: Who do you wish was sitting here right now instead of you?
>> I wish jase was. I really think that he's dominating the game, i think that he has a little bit of mind control over some people, and i don't think he's really true to what he says. So, you know, there's some people in there that i definitely want to win, and i think he might give them a good fight.
>> Julie: Well, your fellow houseguests each taped a good-bye message now the event you were evicted tonight. Let's hear what they have to say.
>> Lori, this is not good-bye, this is I'll see you later. You are an awesome person, you're like a sister to me.
>> You have truly amazed me as a person.
>> You've been more of a friend to me in these few weeks than probably all the girlfriends I've ever had at home put together.
>> You got it all, you're a complete package, I think you're the girl version of me.
>> I did hear a rumor that you possibly were disgusted with leaving before i left in this game, which if that is true I'm truly disappointed in you.
>> Lori, i voted you out because you were seen as the ultimate threat in the four horse men's eyes.
>> All I can say is that if you are gone, I'm going to take your energy and your spirit and just try and keep it on the inside, and really do what I know that we both wanted to do coming in this house and that's win this game, and I will win it for new your honor.
>> Julie: Any thoughts?
>> I love him.
>> Julie: Is that true what holly said?
>> You know, that makes me feel bad. And the game is, it's hard to be a real, you know, true honest person in this game. I mean a lot of it you have to work people, and it's really out of character for me. So yeah it's very hard to hear what she said. But I did mean it, i mean i know that there were a lot of people that thought holly was had some crazy stuff going on and she caused a lot of stress in the house. So it was hard for me to hear, but if they respected me as a player I think that that's a good reason.
>> Julie: Well keep watching that monitor because we have one more special good-bye for you.
>> Surprise, lori. This is a and this is a-2. And if you are looking at this video then you obviously know the big twist. We love you, girl.

Nominating two houseguests for eviction. And with the house divided, winning H. O. H. Is more important than ever tonight. Who will be the new head of household? It's time to find out. Houseguests, the power is up for grabs. Marvin, as outgoing head of household you are not able to compete. Everyone else, you're probably wondering why you've been blind folded. In this game we call high low, you won't be able to see a thing, and here's how it works. I will ask a series of questions about your fellow house mates as well as the big brother house. The correct answers will either be higher or lower than the number i state in each of my questions. For example, how many houseguests originally entered the big brother house? Is the answer higher or lower than 12? Now, when I say the toward step, if you think the answer is higher than 12, step up. If you think the answer is lower' 12, step down. If your answer is correct you'll return to the middle step and stay in the game. If your answer is wrong, i will ask you to remove your blind fold, and you'll be told to take a seat on the side and you'll be out of game. Please listen carefully. I will ask each question only once. Is everybody ready?

>> Julie: Then let's begin. First question, how many of the current houseguests are pently married? Is the answer higher or lower than three? Step up if it's higher than three, step down if it's lower than three. Okay. Step. The correct answer is lower. Only two of the current houseguests are presently married. Holly, scott, diane, please take off your blindfold, and join marvin on the side. Everyone else can go back to the middle step. Next question. Not counting tonight, how many nights have you spent in the big brother house? Is the answer higher or lower than 19? Step up if it's higher than 19, step down if it's lower than 19. Okay. Step. >> Julie: To make sure you're H. O. H. You have to name the eleven houseguest who went to college. I'm just kidding. Marvin, do you have any advice for the new H. O. H.?
>> No. No, just be, i think i gave most of my snack as way so they wouldn't kick me out the next week.
>> Julie: Karen.
>> That's my advice, don't put karen up. Please don't put karen up.
>> Julie: How do you feel about having just escaped the chopping block?
>> You know what, i think that sooner or lar we're all going to be up here and all feel the same, so don't want to scare anybody, but i harbor much anxiety, i have been just whacked. They can see it all over my face though, so I'm not kidding anybody when i say I've been a ball of nerves, but it's over.
>> Julie: When i said your name did you think you were going?
>> Oh, my god, and then when you said i wasn't going that was even worse.
>> Julie: How is the house without lori right now?
>> It's different when we lose one, i think it's always going to be different when we lose one. I don't think that anybody is going to be all happy necessarily, because you get to know people, and you're used to their presence buzzing around, and it's different.
>> Julie: Well thrk is a competition, divides, don't forget that. Now, drew, is there one privilege that you're looking forward to the most as head of household?
>> I would say being able to sleep with my sleeping mate scott in the nice big room. And some nice darkness, that will be great. And hopefully some nice snacks to snack on and see my pictures from home. So I'm totally pumped.
>> Julie: It's a special title and a lot of responsible, drew. All right, houseguests. Thank you all.

>> He's so funny and sincere, and genuine. There was just a connection. It's just one of those things like you feel like you've known him for a long time and you can totally trust him, and I really feel like we all three completely trust each other a lot.

I'm going to go down fighting, but there's only so much we can do. You try so hard to each out a support system, and the fact that the two good most honorable people that immediately i clung to at the very beginning, the fact that they are up on the block this week, absolutely sends shivers down my spine.

>> I think that the nature of this game is going to put a lot of us in the position that I'm in now, and that lori is in now.
