Boog is saying well they may not have had the means to leave. Jam says go to a shelter then. He doesn't seem to remember the SuperDome or Convention center shelters and what happened in them. He talks about having to flee hurricane Andrew when he was 16. They were smart enough to go to a shelter. Their home was destroyed by it. He talks about someone robbing him (a different point in time, I think) Boog is being polite in his responses. Jam talking about firearms and learning to use them. He says his dad hunts bears with mussle loaders (sic?). Jam saying that his parents have been separated for about two years now. They have not reunited. He talks about coping with the separation. Boog is being fairly sympathetic. Jam doesn't go visit his father in Va. His mom was in N.Dakota up until about two months ago--she was there volunteering on a reservation. His bro lives in NC and has worked as a pit crew member for Nascar teams. Jam last saw his dad 2 years or more ago-they do talk on the phone. Family is important, well, he is learning how important it is. Jam is the loner in the fam. Bro and Dad are close and Sis and mom are close. He is close to none of them.
