(still outside off in a corner, talking fairly low)
Nakomis thinks that Janey is a threat and James is the brains. Mike says Howie's worth keeping around just for entertainment - he believes Howie must go into rooms sometimes, to himself, and laugh about how nobody takes him seriously and he's floating along.
Nakomis genuinely appreciates Janelle's intelligence here, complimenting her on her chess game - she saw moves in advance. Mike counters saying she's very good at staying back, hanging aloof, like she's thinking in game-terms every minute. Boogie says he likes "them" (S6) socially, but they're just arrogant. Nakomis agrees, getting a little sarcastic about it being "their house, sorry I'm in your house." Mike says flat out they've got to take a shot at "them" early. The "them" code in their convo is pretty much the Season 6 people, but we're not really sure where they stretch that alliance too, vis a vis Jase, Erika or whomever.
They discuss the possibility of a roulette-style backdoor, going for it anyway, and using promise deals to seal any holes in the plan. Nakomis mentions James, that he's both great in competitions and he's acting wisely in his alliances so far. Mike goes over James' strategy a little, saying that he's gonna ride the S6'ers just as long as he needs to - he thinks James is the only one who would flip on them - Kaysar, Howie and Janelle would be together to the end. Nakomis agrees, and they both bounce back and forth about the idea of using James later because of his willingness to turn.
Mike tells her a plan: they have to spread the "permeation" among all non-S6 people that they're the Evil Empire. He mocks the Jedi thing, saying that they're going to paint them as the badguys. Booger also quickly questions the Erika alliance, he doesn't think she's really with them.
Mike: He (James) will ride that four-pack for a while, as long as it can go. CG, Erika, these guys need to understand that. Right now is the time to knock them off, and I feel Danielle would be a better ally to do that.
It goes on a bit, and Mike brings up Marci saying he can't get a read on him. They agree that Marcellas basically wants to stay out of the way right now. Nakomis adds that it's tough for someone to feel others out, since there's always so many groups. They both notice there's always one of "them" around, a Season 6er, in every group - almost revering how well they spread themselves out. Mike brings up that Howie thinks he has everyone in the palm of his hand with "his little routine," and hangs off on the explanation.
Nak: I have to hold off right now, but next week, the game is on. If they want to act like the Lords of the house..
Mike: You're very smart about the James thing. We could pick off James...
They talk about how they could play James off of the others, once they go on the ropes, because James would want a life-raft to get back with the rest of the house. Mike boils it down to not wanting to only watch S6 on TV, he doesn't want to be home after they've disposed of everyone.
they exchange byes and that wraps quite an interesting chat.... |
